BRADY BACON TO CHASE USAC SPRINT CAR TITLE IN BBR NO. 99

BRADY BACON TO CHASE USAC SPRINT CAR TITLE IN BBR NO. 99

Following a year-long partnership with Brady Bacon, the Dooling-Hayward Motorsports group has decided to indefinitely halt the sprint car portion of its operation. After discussing options with family, sponsors, and some of his longtime supporters, Brady has decided to pursue the USAC National Sprint Car Championship with his own 99 operation.

A two-time USAC National Sprint Car champ, the Oklahoma native who calls Indiana home is still slated for a schedule that includes over 100 races between sprint car, midget and Silver Crown action.

“I would like to thank Brodie Hayward and Joe Dooling for a successful year last season. They have decided to change direction in their team and take a break from sprint car racing. Brodie and I are still in touch and plan to continue our relationship within racing in some capacity. Obviously, I wasn’t expecting this sudden change in plans, but hopefully we can take this opportunity to renew and grow relationships with our longtime supporters and welcome some new partners and supporters in chasing this new goal,” said Bacon.

A former champion in the USAC National Sprint Car Series with Hoffman Auto Racing in 2014 and 2016, Bacon has more than seen his fair share of success with 19 career victories in the series. Chasing his third title in six years, Bacon will have every opportunity to score the feat after completing the opening three events in Florida and continuing in the Brady Bacon Racing No. 99 for the rest of the 45-race schedule.

Sticking with his mighty 100+ event schedule, Bacon’s 2018 breaks down to approximately 49 non-wing sprint car races, 27 winged sprint car races, 21 midget races, and a handful of Silver Crown races. Between the USAC Sprint Car events with Brady Bacon Racing, USAC Midget races with Frank Manafort Racing, winged sprint car races with Bacon-Marshall Motorsports, and silver crown races with Bob East and Terry Klatt, Bacon plans to carry on with his loaded season.

Bacon’s first USAC appearance under BBR will come Saturday, March 31 as the series travels to Indiana’s Lawrenceburg Speedway for the fourth race of 2018.
