3 POINT CRA SEPARATION FOR SPENCER, GARDNER SAT. AT PERRIS

Damion Gardner and Mike Spencer continue to battle for supremacy in the AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Car series, which resumes this Saturday night's "California Racers Hall of Fame Night" at Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway.

Gardner leads in terms of all-time race wins at the PAS (34-25 over Spencer), all-time Perris races led (46-45 over Spencer) and all-time laps led (795-715 over Spencer) but Spencer has five series titles compared to Gardner’s three.

Gardner trails Spencer by just three points in the latest standings as he searches for a repeat title and his fourth all-time.

Gardner and Richard Vander Weerd have each scored three wins at Perris this year.  Vander Weerd ranks third in the standings, just 47 points behind Spencer, and is ready to pounce if the two leaders falter.
