RALEIGH’S SULYI RALLIES TO HOMETOWN VICTORY AT WAKE COUNTY
Raleigh, North Carolina (May 12, 2023)………Logan Sulyi raced his way into becoming the third different feature winner in the first three races to kick off the 2023 USAC Eastern Focus Midget season on Friday night at North Carolina’s Wake County Speedway.
Sulyi (Raleigh, N.C.) moved to the front just prior to the halfway point of the 35-lap feature, passing Mack Leopard for the point on lap 17. Sulyi then led the remaining 18 circuits to earn his second career series victory. Sulyi also earned the night’s fastest qualifying honors.
Brady Allum (Gold Hill, N.C.) took the runner-up spot behind Sulyi while Leopard (Fairborn, Ohio), who led the initial 16 laps, scored a career best third-place finish. J.T. Bierman (Bath, Pa.) came home fourth while defending series champ Hunter Wise (Allentown, Pa.) rounded out the top-five.
In the process of picking up the maximum of 76 points, Sulyi elevated to the series point lead.
