PERRIS HOSTS AMSOIL USAC/CRA SPRINT CARS THIS SATURDAY

JULY 13, 2021... This Saturday, July 17th, the AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Cars are back in action at Perris Auto Speedway (Perris, CA). Promoted by Don Kazarian, the ninth point race will also showcase the PAS Senior Sprint Cars. Walk up tickets will be sold and advance tickets can be purchased online. The Front Gates at “America’s Premier Dirt Track” will open at 5:00pm and Racing is scheduled for 7:00pm. Located at the Lake Perris Fairgrounds at 18700 Lake Perris Drive in Perris, California, more event information and advance tickets can be found at perrisautospeedway.com or by calling 951.940.0134. For those that cannot be at the races, floracing.com will broadcast a live stream of the night’s action over the internet.
At intermission, there will be a candy giveaway for kids and a USAC/CRA driver/team meet and greet with the fans on the front straightaway.
NOTICE TO RACERS:
- THE 2019 RULE BOOK will be followed in regards to race format and weight rule (1,325 lbs. with driver)
- 2021 APPROVED/LEGAL TIRES: THE HOOSIER RD20 RIGHT REAR TIRES ARE NOW USAC/CRA LEGAL. The 105/18 HTW, 105/16 Medium, 105/18 Hard, and 105/18 F85A are also legal with the series. Hoosier Tires are mandatory on all four corners.

- FRONT AXLE TETHER SYSTEMS (2-Chassis, 1-King Pin to King Pin) ARE MANDATORY.
- FULL CONTAINMENT SEATS ARE MANDATORY.
- Cockpit adjustable shocks ARE ALLOWED.
Since March 6, 2004, the Lake Perris Fairgrounds has held 226 AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Car events and forty-two different drivers have claimed victory. “The Demon” Damion Gardner leads all drivers with 48 “home track” wins and Nic Faas set the 1-lap track record of 15.833 on February 25, 2012. In the last three “home track” events, Gardner won the “Sokola Shootout,” Brody Roa topped the “70th Running of the Salute to Indy,” and Gardner scored the June 19th victory. After winning the July 3rd “Doug Fort Memorial” at Santa Maria, “The Demon” Damion Gardner (Concord, CA) has a 62 point lead over the competition. Driving Mark Alexander’s #1 PerformanceOnline.com / Carman Trucking Spike, Gardner has posted three feature wins, four Woodland Auto Display Fast Time Awards, four heat race victories, seven top-10 finishes, and 67 feature laps led on the year. The eight-time champion eighty-86 series wins and will be looking for his third consecutive triumph.
“The Pride of Garden Grove” Brody Roa (Garden Grove, CA) ranks second in the championship point standings. Racing the BR Performance #91R HD Industries / Burris Racing Eagle, Roa finished second at Santa Maria after driving from the back twice. At press time, the 2019 USAC SouthWest Sprint Car Champion has one feature win, two Woodland Auto Display Fast Time Awards, three heat race victories, six top-10 finishes and 55 feature laps led in the campaign. Brody will have his sights on gaining valuable points with his tenth career win.
“The Big Game Hunter” Austin Williams (Yorba Linda, CA) sits third in the chase for the championship. Piloting Tom and Laurie Sertich’s #92 Huntington Beach Glass & Mirror / Lucas Oil DRC, Williams raced from eighth to fourth at the “Doug Fort Memorial.” To date, the 2009 Co-Rookie of the Year has one Woodland Auto Display Fast Time Award, two heat race victories, six top-10 finishes and 11 feature laps led to his credit. “The Big Game Hunter” will be looking to earn his tenth USAC/CRA win this Saturday night.
Chris Gansen (Verdemont Heights, CA) is fourth in the USAC/CRA point standings. Driving the family owned #4G Trench Shoring / Cam 2 Blue Blood Oil Maxim, Gansen ran seventh in the Santa Maria feature. At press time, the veteran driver has recorded one In Memory of Jim & Chet Gardner Hard Charger Award, eight top-10 finishes, and 1 feature lap led on the year. Chris will have his sights on earning his first victory at Perris Auto Speedway,
Tommy “Thunder” Malcolm (Corona, CA) ranks fifth in the championship point standings. Racing Dino Napier’s #5X Indiana Truck Salvage / B&B Powder Coating Maxim, Malcolm finished tenth in Santa Maria’s “Doug Fort Memorial.” At press time, the young driver has posted one heat race victory and five top-10 finishes in the campaign. Tommy “Thunder” will be looking for his first USAC/CRA feature win at The PAS!
Heading to Perris, Austin Grabowksi (Riverside, CA) leads the chase for Rookie of the Year honors. Jake Hodges (Camarillo, CA), Ryan Timmons (Pleasant Hill, CA), Ikaika O’Brien (Oahu, HI), Brent Owens (Rancho Cucamonga, CA), and Shane Sexton (Warner Springs, CA) are also in contention.
